Obituary for
Mark Crowley
Mark E. Crowley, 68, of Vermillion, SD, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Sanford Medical Center in Vermillion.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 27 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 416 Walker Street, Vermillion, SD with Father John Fischer officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Calvary/St. Agnes Cemetery in Vermillion. Following the burial a lunch will be served at St. Agnes Church.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. on Friday, January 26 at St. Agnes Church, with a scripture service starting at 7 p.m.
Mark Elmer Crowley was born January 31, 1949 in Yankton, SD to Henry and Beulah (Hinzman) Crowley. Mark attended Sacred Heart Elementary School in Yankton and graduated from Yankton High School in 1967. Mark graduated from the University of South Dakota in 1971. He married his wife of 45 years, Kathleen Dargen, on July 29, 1972 in Sioux Falls, SD. Together they raised three children. In 1977, Mark began work as a public accountant in Vermillion, eventually owning the accounting firm of Mark Crowley, CPA. Mark was a beloved husband, father and grandfather who greatly enjoyed exercising and playing with his grandchildren. He was an active member of St. Agnes Catholic Parish in Vermillion.
Mark is survived by his wife, Kathy, son Jay (Karen) Crowley, daughters Kim (Patrick) Donelan and Patty (Don) Nash, and sisters Yvonne Paulson, Lois Ann Welnick and Coletta Eaves. Mark deeply loved his five grandchildren: Nora Crowley, Ava Donelan, Jack Donelan, Charlie Nash and Sophie Nash. Mark is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Beulah Crowley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Agnes School or St. Agnes Parish.
