Joyce Carol Fredrikson (Gamble)
Joyce Carol Fredrikson, 84, of Inver Grove Heights, MN passed away Monday, June 26, 2017 at Brookdale Assisted Living Center in Inver Grove Heights.
Joyce was born February 20, 1933 on a farm north of Lake Wilson, MN. She was the youngest of five children with three older sisters; Margaret, Lois, and Shirley and brother Wayne. Joyce met her high school sweetheart, and the love of her life, while attending school in Slayton, MN. Joyce and Bob Beach were married January 11, 1952 in Hadley, MN. While Bob was in the military, the couple lived in GA, NJ and Germany. After his discharge from the military, the couple settled into their life at Chandler, MN where they began raising their family. The couple lived in Miller, Woonsocket, and Vermillion. Bob died in November of 1986 and Joyce remained in Vermillion where she did secretarial work for the Luther Center and Prison Congregation. In May of 1992, Joyce married Burt Fredrikson.
Joyce’s children, grandchildren and her faith were very important to her. She also enjoyed assisting with church activities, having coffee with friends, fishing, playing cards, and scrabble.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters; Margaret and Lois, and brother Wayne.
Survivors include one son Randy (Becky) Beach of Baudette, MN, two daughters; Kim Beach of Mitchell, SD, and Susan (David) Jacky of Vermillion, MN, three grandsons; Morgan Gobely and Mitchell Gobely of Vermillion, MN, Bobby Beach-Pattison of Mitchell, SD and one granddaughter Alli Beach-Pattison of Mitchell, SD, also three great-grandchildren; Marae, Owen, and Journey Gobely and sister Shirley (Len) Claxton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the National Parkinson’s Foundation, Trinity Lutheran Church, or Clay County 4-H Program.
