Carol R. Pollman (Keeley)
Carol R. Pollman was born on August 6, 1944 to Clare and Mae Keeley in Yankton, SD. She passed away on Monday, March 13, 2017 in Sioux Falls, SD of Alzheimer's Disease at the age of 72.
She was united in marriage to John Andrew Pollman on May 29, 1971.
She grew up outside of Wakonda, SD and graduated from Wakonda High School in 1962. She then went on to attend Mount Marty College in Yankton, SD, where she graduated with her Bachelors of Science in Nursing. She worked @ the Yankton Medical Clinic for many years, and then went onto the University of South Dakota where she was a nursing instructor.
Carol loved to watch her kids play sports, along with other activities, and would not think of missing a single game. She only left her dad at one game in all those years. Thanks again to the Wakonda fan bus for bringing him home that night. She was an huge supporter of Wakonda activities.
Carol loved spending her time with her 3 grandchildren Miles, Max and Macy. No request was ever turned down. Whether it was pushing them on the swing set or making them popsicles, she always had a smile on her face.
Carol was a lifelong member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Wakonda, along with serving on the board at the Wakonda Heritage Manor for numerous years.,
Survivors include her daughter Keeley Pollman, Sioux Falls, SD; her son Mike (Casey) Pollman, Wakonda, SD; 3 grandchildren Miles, Max, and Macy, Wakonda, SD: one brother, Mike Keeley, Wakonda, SD, five sisters, Mary Valentine, Yankton, SD, Patricia Knutson, Tustin, CA, Madonna Keeley, Wakonda, SD, Bonnie (Bruce) Bentaas, Wakonda, SD, Maureen Keeley, Wakonda SD. Sister in law Mary (Dean) Zimmerman, Rockton, IL. Her nieces Rachel (Nick) Martz, Centerville, SD, Lynnsey Zimmerman, IL, and Zak Knutson, Burbank, CA, Rick Zimmerman, WI. Along with many family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband John in 1985, her parents Mae and Clare Keeley, along with many other family and friends.
In memory of Carol, the family requests in lieu of memorials that a donation be made in her name to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church or the Wakonda Fire Department.
